Cucumber Sandwich

Ingredients:
Bread — 8 slices (white or whole wheat)
Cucumber — 1 large, thinly sliced
Butter — 75 to 100 g (soft)
Cream Cheese — 4 tablespoons (can be used for cheesiness)
Salt — as required
Black Pepper — as required
Chaat Masala — 1/2 tsp (optional, for Indian flavor)
Fresh Herbs — Mint or coriander leaves (optional, pureed)

Steps to Make Cucumber Sandwich:
Step no. 1
Prep the Bread:
Take 8 slices of bread and cut the crusts (as this is optional, it is not essential but makes the sandwiches look neater). You can lightly toast the bread if you want crispy sandwiches, however it is not done normally as cucumber sandwiches’ bread is soft.
Step no.2
Prepare the Butter or Cream Cheese Spread:
If you are using the spreadable butter, take butter out of the package and make sure to use the perfect amount of butter on all bread slice.
In a creamier preparation, this trick works with cream cheese which can be mixed with finely chopped fresh mint/coriander and salt. Spread evenly on the slice of bread.

Layer the Cucumber:
Take half of the buttered bread slices and place a single layer of cucumber on top of the butter. Finish seasoning with a little pinch of salt, black pepper and optional chaat masala.

Assemble:
Complete the stack by placing the other slices of bread to make a sandwich.

Cut and Serve:

Tips for the Perfect Cucumber Sandwich:
Use Fresh Bread:
New and fluffy bread is very convenient with cucumber sandwiches which makes me come back for more. Should you wish to add some crunch to your sandwich- a quick toast of the bread should do the trick.
Thin Cucumber Slices:
Ensure you cut the Cucumbers into very thin slices. A mandoline slicer will guarantee even and thin sliced cucumber.
Pat Dry Cucumbers:
If your Cucumbers have a lot of In Case you wish to sneak in cucumbers which are runny, use a paper towel to pat them dry to prevent any soggy sandwiches.
Chill Before Serving:
These sandwiches are quite sweer but they are even more delicious when cold so it is recommended to cool them for a few minutes before serving.

You can also use mint or coriander in the sandwich for a fresh flavor.
Variation:
You may also spread some thin tomato slices, or shredded lettuce helps, layer by layering.
